Dory Pets has, but I wont pay R 100 for a fish. I haven't seen high quality Blue Ram stock in ages.

I got 1 male and 4 females from Northlands pets in Durban over the weekend. Nicest ones I've ever seen so I had to get them

Why not go for normal rams? Way more robust and easy to keep alive.

Long time ago. He's keen to do it again, but we need good stock first... It's a pity. He was doing parasite free rams. Now hes going full on into Discus again.

There is always a market for good quality Ramirezi. The ones we get at the LFS die most of the time! I currently have a good pair but can't get them to spawn anymore

Dudez, I may have some good news,

I have stumbled on a Distributor that have good prices I think.
anyway, I can get pairs for you all, and he agreed to sort them before collection.
they are labled as "jumbo" male and female. If we buy only a few he cost them at R42.54 each...
but If we all gooi together our order, and maybe take a bigger batch of 20 or 50, he will drop the price... He will notify me tomorrow,

I have never bought from him before so this wil be a new step for me... one perk is If he ships them with overnight (Gauteng area)
he will credit DOA's to your next order (needs photo proof)... If we pull this off, I will personaly go collect, and we can get together at N1 Maxis or some midway place. we can maybe carpool if somone want to TAG along... would be nice to meet some of you IRL... :thumb:
since i will be comming up from the vaal...

I know I would take at least 3 pairs...

Let me know, and inbox me if you want my cell No...

    Keltz...

I hate to say this, and don't take this the wrong way at all, but Jumbo Rams doesn't mean quality Rams.

We are a little bit skeptical nowadays when it comes to Rams. I have seen big ones, small ones, medium ones, German Blues, Electric Blues, Balloons. I have bought them all, but weeks later they just die.

They are hormone treated, and are often pumped full of antibiotics until they are shipped out. They then arrive in store, get sold and die when they come into contact with bugs and goggos in your tank because they haven't got an immune system. So it's not a case of size.

    Also, who is the supplier?

And, I'm sure I speak for a few people here, but I would like to see pics of them before I commit to buying a species that is known to be trouble.

Be careful and ask for pics first. I have a male that is oversized/jumbo and highly unnatractive to my eye. Almost as bad as Balloon Rams!

I see Sean beat me to it but has the same concerns...

I'm not criticizing you at all, and I understand that you just want to help. I'm just trying to convey my thoughts and feelings on the subject of rams.

I've just been to one of the LFS in my area, they just landed a big shipment from overseas. Wow, funniest looking rams I've ever seen! I think they may well be the balloon rams that have been mentioned. They look like soccer balls that have been painted to look like true rams
