Hi, Can anyone tell me if the plastic that is used for garden trellis is safe for an aquarium? I have attached a pic. I am looking for a grid to attach moss to.
Having issues uploading and my internet connection isnt getting me onto photobucket. Anyway its that green garden mesh sold at the nurseries. The grid is made up of blocks about 1 cm squared.
Hi Brenton ... I have used it in the past with no ill affect on fish - as for other aquatic life, no clue. The thing that is worrying me more and more about plastic - esp from garden shops, loads of it is "green" and made from recycled / reclaimed stuff. One never really knows what could leach from that into you water. Later Ferdie
Thanks Ferdie. I have made another plan and in fact didnt use the trellis plastic at all. I would rather be safe and use only food grade plastic in my tank. I am sure the trellis isnt made from that plastic so decided not to risk it.
