Ray I think I was being 'territorial' as you put it for another reason and that was way way back and it was not to do with promoting our own tanks internationally and getting foreign exposure and interest and learning from this. I don't want to open up the tubifex can here as that's for another time and a separate thread.

What I will say is that after my five years on this forum and 4000 posts later, what we at APSA desperately require here is at least some international representation and more senior members , guys that we can learn from and look up to and move the hobby forward here. Let's face it, while we have new members joining each week there are just as many disappearing so the number of active contributing members has hardly changed, which is sad. The same can perhaps be said for other fish and hobby forums, but the difference here is these forums seem to have a core of senior experienced scapers and members which for some reason we don't have, apart from a handful of folks. APSA is really great and useful for newbies for a variety of reasons and I got great value myself, but for the more experienced folk it has less appeal evidently as where are they ?

Sure we can join the big mainstream international forums as well as I have done as have others, but that does not benefit APSA or the local hobby..

Will be on 'vacation' for a bit, but will be back..

    Congrats all..
somewhat confused how the rank placement doesn't correspond to the photo ranks. I'm no longer even in the photo ranks.. But least I didn't come dead last.. Or did I?

Lovely competition.. It was enjoyable.. :)

I stopped entering competitions for a while, but I enjoy scaping, and the challenges that brings.

It is nice that we have shops judging, they get to see what can be achieved.

Do agree with Trevor, we need more people here, people with experience, and people that challenge the rest to follow through, and to do better.. however, I also understand that the market is very small here. What one can find easily internationally it cannot be found here.. we cannot even find proper rocks..

Also, the price of plants and materials are too expensive for most.. puts many out of reach of trying new things.. we can hash this out in another thread if needed.. :)

All in all a good competition and thanks for the hard work! Appreciated.

Well done guys. Pity my tank was infeated with BBA at the time
Otherwise I would have entered as well. And got the last spot.

Justa random thought, it would be nice to have a APSA calander made out of the top 12.

Cool idea! Just make my pic very very small. So the gnarly plants aren't so in your face. :p

I'd love to hear what the "average joe" has to say about my tank as well. (I know the plants took a knock before the photo shoot :( ).
The critique would really help with the next scape for that tank. (which will be happening rather soon)
