Apistos are very easy to spawn, that they will do on their own. The actual challenge is in breeding them - and raising that batch of fry to adulthood, when to remove the male or in some cases when to remove both parents, feeding, waterchanges etc. If you have psychotic parents that practice infanticide you may end up with one day old fry that become your responsibility to raise. Alot of time, patience & dedication is required to breed Apistogramma.

Joe how many pairs can be kept in a 450L tank with lots of hiding spaces for them?

no idea JP, I dont keep them like that - they have a tendency to "dissapear" in large planted tanks IMO. If you want to do this for display purposes you could keep only males for example? I have groups of 40-60 juveniles growing out in 100l tanks with no issues whatsoever, however when you add different pairs to a new environment the behaviour is not the same as when they grow up together and their behaviour towards each other becomes unpredictable.

Nice pic JP, glosso doing really well  @morris I Have Steel Blue; Red Cockatoo; Sunburst Cockatoo; Baenchi & pearl blue agasizzii (tefe strain). I have been reading alot of nonsense on forums regarding german rams lately and I am considering adding dutch green and blue german rams to the breeding room again.

Oh boy, apistos everywhere and I have not had time to focus on selling any for around 2 months :BangHead: I used to supply Norton Aquatics but they have recently closed down so I am in the market for a new distributor. Not interested in Campcon but will have a contact in Western Cape by end February again to supply down there. I abhor shipping but if the order is big enough I would consider doing that. All species are available including A. Baenschi (Inka)

    kind regards

    Joe
