Why do you find it depressing, Henk? I think it's very inspirational!

I think Henk has 'tongue in cheek' Richard. I also found it depressing when i was starting out, and of course I still have loads of room for improvement but stick to it and it will get better and 'come together' for you. Persistance and balance. :)

Of course not, if that's the kind of setup you want (as in the AGA contest photos) it's more than possible, especially with all the new CO2 equipment and other goodies that are slowly becoming more and more available to the planted tank hobbyist (if you have the cash that is :) )

Hopefully we can have some members from APSA representing South Africa in one of the international contests. It's just a matter of time :thumb:

The other thing to remember is that a lot of those tanks are set up purely for the AGA, so they aren't tanks that people actually have to live with. I think the tank maintenance alone is enough to drive anyone crazy. I sometimes feel swamped with my tanks and they're VERY low maintenance.

    Wow Peter!

Thanks for sharing that link with us! It is absolutely fabulous! Its what I dream about, but as some of the guys say, its something to work towards to, and if they can do it, I'm sure one of us will get there.

    Lets give it a go!
