It's my first try at emersed plants. I used moss I found next to my pond. I really need advice on this. [IMG]
I'm using a single T8 above the tank with a glass lid. Should I keep the small pool of water in the foreground or not. I used peat and potting soil as my substrate.

I grow a lot of moss in my greenhouse. It does well under medium light, with plenty of moisture, but doesn't like being "soaked". IT often gets mould or fungus growing on it if there is not enough air flow, so watch out for that. This kind of moss generally doesn't transplant well at first, it appears to die back, but if you are patient enough it will grow out again and then it will thrive. I moved a lot of moss into my greenhouse from my garden, it all appeared to just die off within a few days. I left it there for months, and now I have moss growing everywhere. Some of the mosses I've brought in from other placs have taken well immediately, but they were different kinds. Good luck with it.

if you are planning on filling it up and not growing it as just a mossy bank with no water, then you need to use aquatic moss..

also you need to support such a steep slope, or once you fill it up it will all just slide forward and level off..
