    update:

the holes have all been filled and sanded, i painted the inside gray. i cut the formica for the sides and back and top. i havent started with the doors yet. and i havent started gluing the formica either, coz the "bargain" router i got is missing some pieces, so this has put the whole project on hold for now, til i can get some spares...

quick pic of the formica sheet i got, 1.3m by 3m

i will take a pic tomorrow of the stand sanded and painted....

It sucks about the setback with the bits, but the formica looks like it's nearly the perfect colour. I can't wait to see it when you've put it on properly.

The 1/2 inch bits are way more expensive.
They produce less vibration,so better finished product.
    Larger hardwares will have them.

What 1/2 inch bits are you looking for?
I can price them for you up here.

i havent had much time to work on this lately...

i have got most of the laminate on the main box, just the small strips on the front still to do. then i can measure and cut the doors, laminate those and hang them and i am done.

i will take some pics tonight if i have some time.

working with laminate is tough, i was counting on the laminate hiding some imperfections, but it doesnt, it is very unforgiving.

i will make another one at some stage that will be 100% perfect using everything i have learned from this build, like the order in which you glue the laminate pieces on to get the most aesthetically pleasing look, getting the place where you buy the wood do the cuts, so they are 100% square etc...
