Gonna have to close this thread...sorry peeps. @skua was just at my place...and apparently my tank looks nothing like I posted on here...my bad...
Jy slaan die spyker op die kop.Die tank by jou huis lyk baie better as die een op die foto.daardie asassen is klaar besig omte moor.
Yeah, that looks really really rad man. You said questions are welcome. I think at this point, Lighting is something I'm really pondering over at the moment. How much light are you using over that tank?
3 x 54W T5's - 8000K & 6500K rating. Dont wanna use too much light as i am a firm believer that less is more with anubias. The other plants aint high lights plants either (even the montecarlo)...so score!! I just need to find the right balance between light, CO2 and ferts now...
Thanks man. Totally agree with you there. I'm quite partial to the lower light setups actually. And lush anubias are difficult to beat! But yeah, I really like the rooty vibe you got going on in that tank!
2 weeks in...mini update... Must say...I'm quite impressed with CO2. Not bad growth in 2 weeks...considering I'm running low light and low CO2. With all the low light plants in there...specially the anubias (6 types) which are slow growers...I'm scared too much light will cause algae issues. So only running 3 x T5 tubes and 5BPS...the stems are settled and growing nicely and the Monte Carlo starting to carpet nicely as well
Very lekker growth for two weeks worth... Looking great, Your MC carpet might be done way before my HC carpet recovers...
Really nice Jax! love the wood! can't you add more rocks to to the base of the wood? I'm thinking you should skip the carpet and leave it quite open, maybe add a whole bunch of crypts at the wood, and lots more anubais, buce, bolbitis and narrow leaf ferns or tridents. to the wood. maybe have the carpet on the left and right? sorry for all the suggestions.. but it is stunning they way it is
looking really good Jax, only suggestion would be to create some breathing space somewhere in the scape and a point of focus or intrigue
So start trimming those Monte Carlo and send me some.... Eish some people. Nice setup Jax liking it all.
Stems just need to grow in nice and thick in the corners. The piece of wood in the centre with the few anubias pieces on it doesn't have any stems around it (only a few crypts here and there). I'm hoping once the stems are nice and lush...the "clear channel" between them will give you the feel of a stream running thought the scape...if that makes sense...
