Looking good WBS! I can see how rapidly your limnophila sessiflora grew and spread!!

I have thought of using them as a fast growing plant in my setup. But, not so keen on the thining out process! When are some of your other plants arriving?

Sorry to hear that WBS. I think there are quite a few of us struggling to to the plants we would like to have. It's a frustrating situation if you ask me.
It does not seem like we will be getting much help locally. I have thought about buying plants online, but never gone as far as to place an order. Best of luck and let us know how it works out.

They are available over at Aqua Essentials:
    http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.p ... ts_id=1437

Worked out that if you buy 5 of these rocks from aquaessentials, it will cost you 14.95 pounds for the rocks plus 64 pounds for shipping, that works out to 78.95 pounds, or.... R 1245.23

If only I were a rich man...

these rocks in the images are dolomites.. or imitations of it. I have seen several great specimens while walking in Pretoria area, esp in the hills south of the fountains circle, even towards Phelindaba. Another great places to look for then would be if you travel to Northern Namibia or near Chinoi in zimbabwe. ;)

    needed a trim...

i have pulled out all the limnophila sessiflora, moved the purple cabomba from middle front to right back, moved the limnophila difformis, from left front to back middle left, and moved the hydrocotyle from left front to back left, pulled out the swords, and those little plants with purple underneath their leaves on the front left, not sure if they are aquatic, they werent growing at all...

i still want to get a couple more discus, anyone going out to discus world anytime soonish?

i will try take some pics tonight.

    Re: 200l update 24072008 ( trim !=56k )

i get pretty good growth, especially on the swords, and anything i plant takes off immediately, the difformis was just a leaf cutting that rooted itself when i push it in, and you can see a new alternanthera just left of middle, that was also just a leaf cutting that sprouted itself when i buried it, so i guess it is working out ok.

i find the flourite much easier to plant in, and seems to hold stems better...

the only issue i have had so far, and it is my own fault, is when i pulled up a sword in the middle at the back, there wasnt a lot of flourite there, and i pulled up one of the peat plates with it, and the water has been a bit cloudy since then, it has started to clear up over the weekend, so it might have been a bacterial bloom, i wont do that again...

hmmm...going to have to read this thread form scratch again! But here is a question in the mean time!
Do you have any problems at waterchanges? I presume that your water is very acid in the tank and dont you find spikes/troughs in pH etc when you do water changes?
    Looking very good BTW!
    Cheers,
