    Hi Guys
I have a big Anubias on a piece of wood in my Discus tank,it was previously in my CO2 tank.It is not opening new leaves completely, only half way,and parts of the leaves looks almost see thru.I use DSD in my other panted tanks but not in this tank.Another thing that Iwoukd like to know does DSD change the water chemistry, like make harder?I dont want to add anything that will make the water harder because the Discus are breeding at the moment.
    Regards
    Herve

    Hi Hervé,

Seeing that I produce the DSD I am actually the only person that can answer you.

I specifically developed DSD in order to be able to use it with my discus and although it hardens up the water slightly it is not detrimental to your fishes. It obviously depends on how hard your water is which you start off with, but I assume that your water is quite soft as you are keeping discus in it already.

Just follow the instructions of the use of DSD for a low tech setup. I would not advise that you use any of the NPK or NK-P mixtures these will increase the nitrate content of the water which is not what you want to do if you are keeping discus.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

    Thanks Prof
I will add some DSD to the tank.Do you think the temp[29] can be to high for Anubias?

No temp is fine, you just cannot expect them to grow without some fertilizers.

    Kind regards,

Shall I email the DSD calculator to you or do you already have a copy?
