    Hi Sean,

I am going to start selling the first of these small discus (by which time they will be 6-7 cm in size) in about two weeks from now.

If one buys less than six small discus this is looking for trouble as one will dominate the rest and eventually you will have one very lonely fish left. In my tanks and in nature they live in much larger shoals as a result of which the biggest is unable to dominate and then you get a group raised together. As a result of these problems, I would strongly advise that you do not purchase less than six, as a matter of fact I will offer a reduction of price if you take 8 or 10 to specifically make it attractive for persons so that they can make a success of keeping them and possibly getting a pair of adults eventually. If you are wanting to add them to other discus that you might have that would be better, but beware of fishes that are much larger and also beware of the fact that mixing discus from different sources can lead to massive disease outbreaks as they are not resistant to each others diseases.

I am writing this as a general guideline here for other persons to see as well and will send you the prices by PM.

What I would also like to mention is that if I have to airfreight fishes I am not prepared to send less than 6 as I have to deliver them to the airport and package them etc. and this all adds costs. With regard to air freight costs I can guess fairly accurately that the cost will be R200 if not slightly more, I would have to confirm this. You would obviously have to pay for the cost of the air freight.

This cost will also not go up much if one adds more fishes so if other persons might want to share the shipment with you this would benefit all in terms of price. This obviously also applies for persons in other areas in SA (PE or Durban).

    Many hanks and kind regards,

    Dirk

    Hi Guys,

I just thought I would update you on my "babies". I have kept a group of 12, all the others are sold. They are now just under 10 months of age and still growing very strongly, size about 10-12 cm and starting to color up very nicely.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

I need to concur with all previous comments - these are magnificent specimens with the wild heritage still firmly intact.

This is an image of the same batch which I bought from Dirk.

    Hey Friends,

Such Beautiful Discus, are they at sale to the general public? I`ve been looking to try my hand at Discus and prefer buying from breeders as opposed to the old commercial way.

Interested to know what you`ve got .

    Regards
    Togra
