Phish - The Ornamental Fish Supply Specialists said so . then i did some research and i think it is because-Java Moss can also used to inhale as a drug similar to marijuana
i have also been told this by a few petshops... plants are normally blacklisted because they can thrive in our climate. plants that cannot survive our hot summers or cooler winters are not normally blacklisted because they will die out if they get into our water systems. java moss grows quickly in all sorts of conditions so it will quickly out compete indigenous species of plants in the same niche and generally becoming a nuisance. i think you have to be pretty hard up to start smoking java moss?
As far as I am concerned and I am pretty sure of my facts here, there are no mosses on the blacklist. And I do not want to smoke my moss either.....! Kind regards, Dirk
lmfu . Thanks for your comment wearsbunnyslippers it makes good sense... Just hope the fish dont smoke it
Who is going to try it, and what happens if you accidentally inhale Taiwan moss or worse flame moss? Are shops not selling Taiwan moss rather than true Java moss... they are still selling Elodia are they not? Has anyone looked at the blacklist? :-\
You will be on the burn if u inhale flame moss that i know. If java moss is not blacklisted then why do most fish aquariums say they are? dunno what to believe but i will just keep it anyway.
Do they know the difference between Java moss and Taiwan moss, very few petshops can tell the difference between aquatics and non aquatics so to expect them to tell the difference between plants is asking alot. Bananas aren't banned and I seem to remember you can smoke them.
