Hi Adrian, only saw your question now. I bought the fitting and lights our China mall, each bank has 1 unit with 2*120cm LED, but only use 1 bulb as they quite bright. They rated at 6500K. Cost was R300 for the unit and 2 bulbs
I can't believe my luck... After feeding all my shrimp tanks, I found these two beauties. they popped up in my CBS tank. Not the best of pictures, but I quickly caught them in a breeder box to take some pics First one is still a extremely small, must be around a week old.....looks like it is going to turn out as a Blue bolt Mosura due to the red eyes Then second I would say is around 3 weeks old, looks like a normal blue bolt.
Bizarre was the KK male in this tank as well with the CBS ! They look a bit different to my BB young... most interesting.
Thanks Bizarre indeed yes No Trevor, this tank has only got CBS of all grades in, non other shrimp. The KK and Michling tank is another tank, there are easily around 150+ mischling babies in there so will start soon with the selective breeding with the KK male. Have setup another bank of 4 tank for this
Sooooo my Taiwan Bee project has began. I bred a F1 CBS miscling back to my King Kong male and got 9 TB's out of the 23 babies. They all pandas and king kings Some pics, still small, the mom released them last weekend My lonely male King Kong, not so lonely anymore.... And then 1 of the 2 blue bolts, the other one is not as blue as this one
Amazing work keep us updated. Definitely my south African shrimp hero. Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
Amazing. Very inspiring. Still a total Noob with my RCS. Had a few pumpkin males in with some fire reds and cherries. They are breeding like crazy and popping out all kinds of variations. I am starting to separate now and understand a bit more about selective breeding. I have one baby in particular that has no colour whatsoever. Any ideas what he could be? Will try snap a pic. Haha, thanks Adrian, only starting with the TB project but all going good Mr_meen, most probably a wild form from from cross breeding
Just some pics of my CRS and Golden bank I took now, feeding some Shrimp King S grade SS grade SSS grade Golden Bees Bank
Moving my last batch of F1 Mischlings, Another month and the females will be ready for the King Kong male This batch has around 150 mischlings in Soon there will be plenty of TB's....
At what size do you start separating the shrimp, aint it like difficult with that amount of shrimp? Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
Hi Adrian, its still a little difficult when they small to see male or female, but if I see any saddle on a female, I transfer her to the tank on the right where the male TB is. If a lady gets pregnant I will also transfer her to the TB tank. I make notes of everything, and on say day 28, I put her in a breeding box. A small percentage will be TB, 0-5 of the batch. Now these babies I will move to a seperate tank as theae are F2 mischlings, and put her back in the TB tank, so next time the male king kong will breed with her next time. Now the babies of these that are not TB will back in the F1 mischlin tank....if this makes sense?
Great job @Maurice . Why don't you make a video or two of your setup? It's definitely something to brag about!
