    Hi all,

So I've watched a few videos where people use Superglue to attach plants to wood and rocks, mainly mosses. Anyone done this? These are all US based, and I wonder if their "Superglue" is the same as ours? I would think that the glue would be toxic and kill the plants, no?

Perfectly safe to use. I have stuck many anubias to rocks with it. The marine guys use it for corals as well.

If you are going to use it get the gel variety. Much easier to use. The only problem with superglue is that it leaves a white residue that is visible.

Thanks! I must admit, I've never seen a "gel" type. That is what LED me to think it wasn't actually Superglue, since the kind I know is the very thin, almost watery one... Cheers!

Henkel has several types of "superglue" on the market in SA which you can find at most supermarkets or any large hardware stores. Superglue is superglue, it's all cyanoacrilate just some is more viscous than others. The cheap stuff you get for R3.00 from a traffic light vendor is pretty much as good as the high end stuff you get from Builders for R35.00. You should also have a tube in every first aid kit, it's the best for closing up cuts, blisters, abrasions etc. I use it on patients all the time.

Most LPSs sell little tubes of inexpensive glue these days for aquarium use, from what I recall it does not give off the white residue which super glue tends to do..

Yep I've done it a few times but using superglue gel. It's a bit more expensive than the normal superglue but work well when you sticking moss and plants when they a bit moist

I did actually hear that it was designed to glue skin together (but I hear many things), therefore it should be non-toxic to many living things...

Super glue is the shit! From sticking moss onto wood and anubias onto rocks it's great, the white residue only lasts for a short while, 2 or 3 weeks.
and it's great for pranks in the office too! like sticking a telephone handset down and then when they answer the phone the whole units gets picked up - you only need two small drops for that, but my personal favourite is removing the "Alt" key on your keyboard and then sticking down the mechanism and then replacing the key - seemingly nothing wrong... until you try to use your PC...:):D:p:bootyshake::bootyshake::bootyshake:

I couldn't get the glue to work... maybe because of the wetness. So I ended up using thread instead.

Well you have to dab the area dry before using the glue also normal super glue don't work you need to use the gel type.
