I've got a friend in HVAC, he definitely recommended taking a unit with an inverter.. I think it probably also depends on how you intend to run it - I would expect that you'd run it for long portions of the day, but just maintaining temperature for a large portion of it, so I'd think that probably makes an inverter worth it, but I'm by no means clued up on aircons..
beating the heat ... of course the moment I had it installed it started raining here.. went for the inverter model
Yes, feel like a new man as making life much easier and less stressful with no more frequent calls home to put the next round of frozen bottles in and checking the tanks for heat casualties. Could not even go away at one point. Remains to be seen how effective the heat pump/dehumidifier side of the unit will be in winter so holding thumbs.
