Soooooo.... it's been a good long while since I had a tank where I live... past weekend this guy came home in a BADLY neglected state.... Got a quick clean...major trim and refill.. Lighting is a single 24W T5 10 000k... some el cheapo power filter...and believe it or not, substrate that is a mix of Hydroton and PE Beach sand All flora are Cryptocoryne species... Fish include Wild caught Semi Barbs... Black Ruby's... Redtail Rasbora... Sewelia Lineolate... SAE's... Pearl Gourami's.... Sparkling Gouramis and a trio of Hypseleotris guentheri Gudgeons Not looking like much yet...but give me some time now it's back home with me...he he
Yup...that's the one... kinda temporary, needed to get it moved and setup in a hurry... Some of the fish have been with me for like 5 years plus...
Lol...rather just get a new tank some time... Want to go for something a tad wider and say 10cm higher in any case.... Now some pics of my shyest and fave fish - Hypseleotris guntheri ... Lastly...bit of a better FTS... Got a new camera recently (Fujifilm S8400W) and its SO much more complicated than my previous S4000... Daytime shot...but much better than the first two pics posted...
O.K...so it aint no biotope correct aquarium no more ... Received some Anubias and with no where else to put them, I crammed them in here... Also found 4 big, fat Khuli Loaches at a dinky LFS close to my home for a song and added them... Really pleased with this low tech scape after only 2 weeks...think its a keeper Side on pic... Oh ja - some Aponogetons gotten as freebies with a recent plant buy went in as well...growing like crazy in the seasand with a few bits of osmocote at their roots....
Thanks Dude... "Triangle scape" came about kinda out of necessity... The Wild Semi Barb school likes to hang out in open areas and the piece of Spiderwood kinda forced me to do it this way... But the scratches in the glass really beginning to bug me big time... Methinks it's time I had a new tank made in the new year and transfer everything across... Added quite a bit of fish to the tank since moving it and just feel they can do with the extra space - something like 90 x 40w(then I can still keep my home made canopy) x 50cm deep... would double the water volume
