    Hey,

I'm looking for the quietest airpump available as my tank is in my room and the elcheepo airpump I have drives me crazy at night, the tank is 60l so I don't need one that has a high flow rate.

    Thanks

I might be wrong but I always found when a pump has to work extra hard it becomes noisy. If the physical pump sits above the water it puts less strain and quieter. That might be a solution for your current one. Else a better quality pump would be your best bet.

    Eheim 100 or Tetratec APS50.

Regent 7500 - cheap and very quiet!

The diaphragms will break after two-three weeks (okay lets be fair, a couple months) but you can replace them with some better quality rubber and the pump should then be just as reliable as the Elite, Eheim or Tetratec units, though not putting out nearly as much air, they'll be more than sufficient for a 60 litre.

I'm with @Jack Stone on this one...I ran a Regent9500 on my 5ft...dead quiet!! But I don't seem to find them anymore...did Dolphin buy them out? Coz I see the exact same airpumps...same size, shame, colour, sticker, number...but with Dolphin as the brand...and not Regent??

Had a couple of those Regent pumps many years ago. Haven't seen them in recent years. Remember them being fairly quiet, but also remember having to place it on a piece of foam as the vibration caused an annoying resonant noise against the wood of cabinet.

The Eheims have built in vibration dampening and are even more quiet than the much raved about old model Tetratec Whisper.
