I would like to know if bostik marine silicone work on lava rock before buying the rock? I want to create a full background using lava rock. I will use submerged and emmersed plants on the rock
Rather use Seachem reef glue, will work better than silicone which has too much flexibility and bounce... Bonds in seconds even under water !
reason i ask is because I have have a tube of bostik marine silicone left and need to create a rocky background. Lava rock will give me the charracter im looking for as well as creeks for water to flow through.
Just be careful that you dont create "dead spots" behind it which you cant access..but fish and waste can...
What Deadpool said. I have scattered rocks around the layout of my tank floor and sometimes I find that there are dead spots that the water flow doesn't access to keep the tank clean.
That's interesting. Will it work for moss? I"m so tired of having to tie up everything on rocks and wood with fishing line.
If you want to go the glue route, you can even used gel based super glue. I myself am still a "black thread" guy...lol
Nice thing about thread...for me...it dissolves with time...but by then, your plants' roots already attached to the rock or wood...
I leave it on most of the time until the plant grows 'into' the line then I take it out Thread will probably be better for my tiny java fernlings I need to anchor
I have a pvc overflow so doubles as a surface skimmer. What confuse me is how do i create flow at the bottom of the tank? What do I do about the area behind the rock? What's the cost Seachem reef glue I use thread to attach moss to rock, had no problem.
Reef glue about R200 at Jungle Aquatics, not sure how this differs from ordinary cheap super glue which I regularly use for plants ?
