Prof I ordered sum black granules and bs granules. My fish pick at it but not very interested. They do love the benkers though. Is it fine to add these granules to my beef heart mix.I'll be making sum in a week Sent from my Halona using Tapatalk
I'm adding a multi vitamin to mix. Think will leave it out and add your black granules instead prof.? Sent from my Halona using Tapatalk
Nice Quintin!!! I'm getting excited for mine to arrive now, , is that Marco's recipe you have there? Please pm me with it? Take care.
Probably not exactly the same as I don't know Marcos recipy but similar. I'll send u mine then u can cross check with Marcos and decide what u want to do. I'm going to be making another mix for my yellow discus so they don't turn red. Even though Charles yellows have not turned. That being said if I rember correctly the yellow whites from the tans are not pigeon based so they should not turn red, as the first yellow whites were pigeons ( pale red pigeon) looks yellow and when fed spirulina and shrimp would then become sharp red. That's if memory serves me correctly. If incorrect feel free to correct me Sent from my Halona using Tapatalk
I'll be running it by Marco and rob Ross to see what to add and what to leave out? Sent from my Halona using Tapatalk
measured some tans today.not quite 15cm yet.biggest was 13-14 cm smallest my little pretty "runt" 10cm.average size being 12cm
Yeah it got me confused to who is who until I realised who @Quintin is cos I know him. @Joshua Tree, you'll eventually be able to spot the difference cos he uses an Halona
I hope you realize what sort of incredible stress you are exposing your discus to when you do that measuring. I would never do that, you can mark off a length using a coki pen on the outer glass of the tank and as they swim past you can then see how long they are, but catching them and measuring them is a huge risk, stress reduces immunity, and immunity protects against disease and infections. Kind regards, Dirk
Only problem when measuring like that is water behind glass has a magnifying effect and will measure quite a bit larger.I rarely measure my fish and when I do it takes max 5sec as my discus swim into net don't flop once get measured and back in with no issues.and don't do all 3 random ones then u know. Hi Quintin, I want to say this again, it is not worth the stress that you are causing! Discus are incredible sensitive to stress, so be warned. After keeping them for 28 years, I speak from experience.... Kind regards, Dirk PS, here is one of my Curipera Alencers just for comparison:
i do hear u prof. I never got feedback from u regarding putting your black granule and bs granule in my beefheart mix so i added it anway. My fish just refuse to eat it on its own. They like benkers though.
