Hi
Get home from work yesterday to find my Black Moor has lost an entire eye. Just a big gaping hole where the eye was. Funny thing is that he is still swimming around quite happily and also ate very well when I fed.
I added some GoldMed to the tank hoping that it would prevent infection.
Anyone know if this fish will live or not ?
The hole looks really bad.

well, im not sure if this applies, but in the past b4 i switched to a tropical tank, i had goldfish and koi together and the koi always bullied the goldfish.. same thing happended to me, the koi chowed out the one goldfishes eye! so we moved the goldfishes to another tank and that eye-less fish stil survived for 2yrs.. hope that helps..

I only have goldfish in there. There is 1 rather large fish in there put placid by nature. I also have not seen any of the others chasing the black moor. Really strange.

Hi
Been a while and I thought that I would give an update on my one-eyed Black Moor (Goggles). Will he is actually now called "Goggle" for obvious reasons.....
He is still alive with 1 eye and as healthy and happy as ever. It is simply unbelievable that a fish that has been through so much trauma is still 100% fit and healthy.........and happy.
He eats well, is social with the other tank mates and comes to front glass to greet us each day when we arrive home from work. So, if any of you have a Goldfish or Black Moor that loses an eye, simply add some meds for the 1st week to prevent infection and the eye will grow over completely and the fish will be fine.

RIP Goggles. My one-eyed Black Moor eventually passed on last night. Guess he couldn't last forever after all the trauma.
