I took some pictures during a water change last night. Growth has been pretty good so far, especially the H.M.
It has made a lot of tiny little white flowers.

Here are the little flowers:

Hi, this looks such a good idea.

I am doing emmersed on a cube, but by using the trays I may be able to set something up for my Crystal Red's breeding tank.

What are you using for ferts? Or you not using ferts at all?

Cheers,
Luis

Hey Luis, I do not use any ferts for this, barely done any water changes either. I have become rather lazy and disinterested with the emersed setup. The lights are manual and I do not always remember to put them on. The HM has pretty much taken over and smothered my Java Fern and some other plants.

The moss is still gowing strong, and I will soon revamp this, with moss and HC trays only.

And this great result is the product of you becoming rather lazy and disinterested? Smiley I wonder what would be if you were really into it.. Smiley

The powerhead is a good idea, I will try that on my emmersed setup, as I can then place the pump on a timer and have two or three mists a day.

So I stopped manually putting the lights on,and kinda just left it to do it's own thing. Growth has slowed down a bit, but that could also be due to the weather getting cold.

Here are some random pictures I took before the lights stopped going on everyday:

The HM was a little monster, invading nearby cantainers and continously growing over the piece my piece of wood with the moss and java fern:

Not looking so good:

HM and moss:

This is how it looks now, growing with only the ambient light that the room receives:

And here is a "visual illustration"  Wink of the whereabouts of the closest window:

Reach for the light!

I have been thinking of moving this tank outside. But, would that be wise with all the coldness that's on it's way?

I would think that the plants would be happier in the cold than in the heat? Or is it better to  keep them "warmish"?  I see some of your plants have started growing in the direction of the light... same thing happened to me before I put proper lights in my tank. Cheesy

Growth is looking good though Silikube Smiley
